Ickelheim, about 5 km from the spa and wellness town of Bad Windsheim, is a historical town at the heart of Franconia. The property is centrally located on a quiet side road in the town centre.
The upper-floor apartment of around 100m² has the same layout as set out by the builder in the 18th century, except that there is a new entrance and there is a bathroom with a WC. The bedroom has a double bed made of hand-hewn soft wood beams and is laid with solid spruce floorboards. The living room has two comfortable sofas next to the fireplace for relaxing evenings and an additional high-quality sofa bed for a third and fourth guest. An antique wardrobe with elaborate adornments provides storage space for your luggage. The attic can be booked in addition to this apartment, accessed up steep stairs from the central hallway in the house. It has a bedroom with a kingsize bed and a French double bed (140cm wide) in a little niche. A separate WC with a washbasin has also been built in. The bathroom on the upper floor provides a washbasin, a WC, and a freestanding designer bath as a highlight. The same as in the ground-floor apartment, the kitchen provides a traditional wood-burning stove as well as modern appliances, such as an induction hob, coffee machine, kettle, toaster, a fridge with a freezer compartment. You can also cook on the wood-burning stove. You can dine together at the dining table in the kitchen.
Up to three bicycles can be rented at no additional cost. From 2018 on, we offer a sauna and a relax room to all of our guests.
It is about 200 meter to a butcher, who also offers freshly baked rolls and three pubs. The "Franken Therme" spa and the Franconian Open Air Museum are a five minute drive; Rothenberg ob der Tauber is 30 minutes and Bamberg, Nuremberg and Wurzburg are all about a one hour drive from your holiday property. Enjoy the stunning scenery during the summer: hiking, bicycling, day trips out, castles and fortresses and much more will make for an interesting stay.
