Summary: Really nice friendly staff in a historic building. The WiFi was reliable and the bathroom was nicely appointed. The shower was a glass cubicle in the room due to the constraints of the old building.
It's pretty echoey in there (again because of the old building) and the floor in the room is wooden floorboards with gaps in them big enough to lose a ring down, so maybe don't bring your favourite jewellery! It was very squeaky to walk around. In addition, there was no bedside table which was a shame, instead some ugly metal lockers which presumably were meant to fit the jail "theme". Overall it was fine and well worth staying if you are fascinated with the history, perhaps if you prefer comfort and quiet, you should choose a more modern hotel!

Summary: Our room was a little small. Looking into other rooms they were all different. Some were larger, some smaller, all unique. Great breakfast! Short walk to Amberg!

Summary: Great and unique hotel with a prison theme. Centrally located in Amberg, with a short walk to “everything”. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely stay here again.
