From the living room you have a beautiful view over the Mediterranean Sea towards Cap de Creus.
The holiday home has a unique location with a sea view and behind the mountains (foothills of the Pyrenees) and the village of Cadaques. You also have a magnificent view of the sea and Cap de Creus from the living room. Our guests spend most of their time on the large terrace overlooking the sea. You can sunbathe, eat and generally relax and enjoy the view.
The entire apartment is tiled with a beautiful modern and beige-colored floor tile that extends into the terrace. This makes the entire apartment very spacious and light.
Adjacent to the apartment is the Cap de Creus Natural Park nature park. It is a beautiful area with a wild coastline with small hidden bays and beaches. The area is also known for its wonderful rock formations, formed by the wind and the erosion of the sea. In the park there are many opportunities for walking, cycling, swimming, etc. In the Cap de Creus Natural Park, in the municipality of El Port de la Selva, lies the former Benedictine monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes at about 520 meters above sea level. The monastery dates from 878 and has now been restored with great care. The interior of the monastery church is particularly beautiful to see. The view from the monastery on the sea is breathtaking.
Those looking for more Dali can visit the nearby provincial town of Figueres, where the large Dali museum is located on the ruins of the former municipal theater. Furthermore, a visit to Pubol is interesting, where Dali set up a castle for his wife Gala, who wanted more freedom. Distance to Figueres is 33 km and to Pubol is approx. 50 km.
The strategic location of Cadaques makes it possible to discover other small towns in the Alt Emporda region. A few kilometers to the north is Colera, a town on the coast with beautiful beaches. Other interesting places are Llanca with a lively marina, Port de la Selva with a beautiful boulevard and a fish market. From Llanca it is very worthwhile to visit the nature park the Albera Mountains, with the nice villages of Espolla, Rabos and Capmany and near Rabos the early Romanesque monastery of Sant Quirze de Colera.
To the south lie Castello d'Empuries with the church of Santa Maria from the 10th century, Roses with a beautiful boulevard and an old citadel from the 16th century and Peralada, which is a center for the beautiful wines of the region. For nature lovers there is the Aiguamolls de l'Emporda Natural Park in the Bay of Roses, an important ecologically protected area especially for water birds. Roman excavations can be found along the coast at Empurias and La Bisbal.
More inland, towards the Pyrenees, there are countless interesting towns and villages to visit a short distance from the apartment. Just beyond Figueres is the medieval village of Besalu with its famous bridge; then you will arrive in an area with old volcanoes: La Garrotxa, with Olot as its main town with a volcano museum. Furthermore, day trips can be made to the provincial capital of Gerona (60 km), where the old town with its cathedral and the old Jewish quarter are particularly interesting. Barcelona can also be visited (140 km). France is also not far away: the French border is 30 km from the apartment and the distance to Perpignan is only 60 km. The trip along the coast via Port Bou and Collioure is picturesque.
Golf courses are close by in Peralada (Peralada Club de Golf), just past Figueres in Navata (Torremirona), in Pals and Gerona (Girona Golf Club).
