In the village, you can enjoy the best that Montejaque has to offer: a Carnival in February, Ferias (fairs) in May and August, a night walk in June, Battle of the Bridge celebrations in September ... and more. Combine this entertainment with some of the best scenery, weather, walking, bird-watching, mountain-climbing, biking, kayaking and other outdoor opportunities/activities, and you'll have one of the best (and most affordable) holidays ever!
Our holiday home, 'Las Hormigas' is the ideal base from which to explore the surrounding areas ... from the historic town of Ronda (with its jaw-dropping-gorge) to the nearby towns of Grazalema and Zahara, where you can look down on the birds flying in the valley below you. Walkers can access at least 13 different routes from our front door; in the summer months, sun-worshippers can walk 10 minutes to the new saltwater swimming pool.

ABOUT LAS HORMIGAS: We bought ‘the house at the top of the village’ in 2003, and spent six weeks’ holiday there in the summer of 2004, to decide what renovations needed doing. The first decision was to upgrade the electricity supply and put lots of sockets in the kitchen. We also sacrificed an upstairs bedroom to put in a second bathroom and landing. We created an entrance hall from what used to be a utility room, and re-located the washing machine to the new bathroom. We removed one-third of the roof to expand what was a tiny roof terrace. When the dust had settled, we re-furnished Las Hormigas, and have spent many memorable holidays there (once for as long as six months).

Truly the highlight of our one-month Spanish holiday!"
