Positive: We arrived at the place through Booking without any special expectations, after searching for a place to stay for a few days before heading to the Salzburg area. Already on the way, we realized we had arrived at a special and magical place. The winding road through the forest, up and down the mountain (the road isn't paved, and for us, that only added to the charm of the place), gave us the sense that we were heading to a secluded spot, one of the few left like this. The place itself is located in a clearing in the forest, and the original building is nearly 200 years old, retaining the charm of the past. The owner completely renovated the place, and everything is modern, new, clean, and well-equipped (there are even fans in the rooms). In addition to the main house, there’s another building with a sauna, relaxation room, and an authentic, amazing pizza oven. There’s also a walking path leading from the house into the forest. After about a 10-minute walk, you reach a hidden waterfall, which was wonderful for us. The owner had a wine cellar beneath the house with some interesting wine treasures. But the highlight of the stay was Andreas, the owner. Communication before arrival was smooth via WhatsApp, and he met us in the nearby village and came with his daughter Sophie, who speaks excellent English. They were charming from the first moment, took us to the house, and explained everything with patience. Andreas suggested we have a pizza evening with the kids, which, in hindsight, was one of our best experiences in Austria. He brought the dough and took the time to show us how to make pizza, and all this while communicating wonderfully with the kids, despite the language barrier. I highly recommend this place for families looking to disconnect and live a little bit in nature. One of our best experiences in Austria
